Boxing As A Vehicle For Change
In the streets of Lagos, hundreds of young people face uncertainty, poverty, and the pull of danger every day. Tipo Boxing Academy exists as a powerful alternative — a sanctuary where gloves replace hopelessness and discipline replaces despair.
Founded by Coach Taiwo Adegbite — known as “Coach Tipo” — the academy offers every child a completely free path to personal transformation through boxing: building champions not just in the ring, but in life.
Launched in September 2023 and powered by the global Pho3nix Foundation, we are reshaping futures and opening pathways to the world stage — including the Olympics.
- Junior Boxing
Foundational boxing training for children and teenagers. We teach proper stance, technique, footwork, combination punching, and the mental focus that separates great fighters from good ones. All skill levels welcome — beginners are our favourite challengers.
- Elite Competitive
For serious athletes with Olympic ambitions. Advanced training, competition preparation, and direct pathways into the Pho3nix Junior Team. Students like Joy Apha are already dreaming of representing Nigeria on the global stage — and we believe they will.
- Life Skills & Mentorship
Boxing is the entry point. Discipline, respect, and community are the destination. Every young person receives mentorship that goes far beyond the ring — equipping them with the mindset and character to succeed in every area of life.

Tipo Boxing Academy is proudly powered by the Pho3nix Foundation — a global nonprofit built on a simple but potent belief: sport can change the world. Since 2018, Pho3nix has empowered children through sport across more than 10 nations and 4 continents, reaching over a million kids through camps, school outreaches, triathlons, and community programmes.
Through this partnership, Tipo Boxing Academy has secured its first permanent gym, received branded equipment and merchandise for every student, and gained a platform to take Nigerian boxing to the world.
